I wanted to post this earlier in the month, but unfortunately my husband and I spent the past two weeks with horrible colds.
These are the books on my reading list for January. I will review them on at the end of the month.
The first two books are about fairy tales but in different ways.

I picked up My Grandmother... at Barnes and Noble prior to Christmas when my husband was looking for a book on computer security.
Inspired by myth, fairy tale, and folklore, Leigh Bardugo has crafted a deliciously atmospheric collection of short stories filled with betrayals, revenge, sacrifice, and love.
I received Language of Thorns for Christmas. It is a gorgeous illustrated volume.
The third book that I'm reading is Jeff VanderMeer's Borne. In a ruined, nameless city of the future, a woman named Rachel, who makes her living as a scavenger, finds a creature she names “Borne” entangled in the fur of Mord, a gigantic, despotic bear.
Borne was also a Christmas present.
