To Be Read List: February Edition

So this month, I am finishing reading some science fiction.

I'm currently reading is Jeff VanderMeer's Borne. I started this book in January, but didn't finish before the end of the month which is why its on both lists. :) As I said last month, I got Borne as a Christmas present.

In a ruined, nameless city of the future, a woman named Rachel, who makes her living as a scavenger, finds a creature she names “Borne” entangled in the fur of Mord, a gigantic, despotic bear.

It Devors! A Welcome to Night Vale Novel by Joseph Fink and Jeffery Cranor

A new page-turning mystery about science, faith, love and belonging, set in a friendly desert community where ghosts, angels, aliens, and government conspiracies are commonplace parts of everyday life.

Welcome to Night Vale…

I got this book because the cover's bright cover and purple edged pages spoke to me. I read the inner cover description and it sounded lots of fun.

A girl named Rose is riding her new bike near her home in Deadwood, South Dakota, when she falls through the earth. She wakes up at the bottom of a square hole, its walls glowing with intricate carvings. But the firemen who come to save her peer down upon something even stranger: a little girl in the palm of a giant metal hand....

I heard great things about the writing in this book from a staff member at University Bookstore so I purchased it. I love getting staff picks.
